During the RSCy2025, a parallel session was carried out on 18 March 2025, chaired by Dr. Constantinos Panagiotou, titled “Building synergies among researchers, decision makers and first responders: From flood risk assessment to operational flood risk reduction services”. The workshop brought together representatives from the Municipality of Polemidia, Cyprus, the Vice-Governor of the Attica Region, Elite Special Missions Team of Vilia community, Bank of Cyprus SupportCY Volunteers Corps, and the Water Development Department of Cyprus. The event was organised in the framework of EXCELSIOR project, by ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence and the National Observatory of Athens, and several disaster risk reduction related projects were presented among which was the AI-OBSERVER project.
